KRRA
who KRRA supports
The KRRA Memberships and Race Series help to support many great causes and charities in the Kingston area.
Some of the most significant KRRA support is for the Start2Finish Running and Reading Program, (formerly KidsFest) through Molly Brant Public School in Kingston. In this program, volunteer coaches share their love of running, health, and reading with disadvantaged kids in Kingston and promote a healthy lifestyle to public school children grades 1 to 6.
As an example of a school that has a Run and Read program in place:
The KRRA is also pleased to support other important local charities like The Kingston Food Sharing Project; we are also pleased to encourage younger runners through kids races and “fun runs” at several of our events.
As a final example, the KRRA awards $500 bursaries to graduating high school runners. This bursary is available to graduating students from KASSAA schools. For full eligibility criteria, please see the application form.
