KRRA – Twosome Run 5k

In this unique winter event, runners compete as individuals for KRRA series points, but can also compete as male-female teams for “twosome” overall and combined age group placings. Same-gender teams are welcome. Medals are awarded to top 3 overall winners and top 3 in each age group. All runners (twosomes and “onesomes”) qualify for KRRA series points.

The Charity

This year we will be making a donation to the Partners in Mission Foodbank!

“Partners in Mission Food Bank has been Kingston’s food bank since 1984. We provide food hampers to Kingston area neighbours in need, the hampers contain a week’s groceries of both perishable & non-perishable food. 2021 was (unfortunately) a record year for us, we provided 14,229 hampers to 6022 individuals (including 1703 children). We do not receive government or agency funding and truly rely on our community to be able to provide help.” – Dan Irwin, Executive Director

The Socks!

All registered runners will receive a custom pair of Outway (formerly Endur) mid-height, knit socks! I was forced to place my order already in order to meet delivery deadlines, so please make sure to register early to get your desired sock size!

Middle-of-the-Pack Running Shoes!

Once again Al and Christina Cantlay of Runner’s Choice Kingston are donating an awesome pair of running shoes for the middle-of-the pack team.

Registration – $5 discount for KRRA Members!

Race fees will be the same as last year. $45.00 with $5.00 discount for KRRA members. Registration is now open on trackie.com. Please note that there will be NO race day registration!

Medal Details

Medals will be awarded for the in-person event only. Categories for teams are the sum of the combined age of each teammate. The age categories are 1-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100-109, 110-200.

Medals will be distributed as follows:

Top 3 overall male-female teams
Top 3 age group male-female teams
Top 3 male-male teams
Top 3 female-female teams

Course Map

Below is our Twosome Run course at the ANAF Centre on Gore Road. The run starts on Gore Road near Donald St. and finished down the driveway of the ANAF. This is a mainly flat and fast course with a couple of small rolling hills and minimal traffic. The ANAF will be open before and after the race for washrooms and our awards ceremony.
